This is a look at a basic nymph and strike indicator setup that we often fish with. It involves 2 nymphs, a strike indicator, split shot, and flourocarbon tippet. It will work on any larger stream throughout the west, and we use this basic approach guiding most everyday. If you have any questions, please just give us an email at info@redsflyshop.com Also, we offer many basic courses on fly fishing at our lodge and fly shop throughout the year. See our website at www.redsflyshop.com Thanks and Fish On!

  • 0:34 What does butt sex have to do with fly fishing?

  • Im from alaska and when i was about 10 years old i ws fishing a very good stream i go to a lot up here and i saw there was a lot of grayling rising but didnt want to fish only grayling or only rainbows... so i tied on a alaska beetle hopper to the top then dropped of a weighted olive muddler off of the bottom, It was great because then id be fishing for rainbows and grayling at the same time, i thought i was a genious.

  • I am unsure how you connect the leader to the thingamabob with the loop. Would you please advise. Also, do you tie the 4x directly to the 1x or taper down?

  • blood knots are also good if your doing different setups with one fly

  • thanks man
