Exercises6c introduces a sampler that enables drag-and-drop loading and manipulation of multiple samples. In doing so it covers:
• making a percussion sampler (different keyboard keys trigger different samples);
• simple polyphony (_not_ using [poly~])
• Multiple drag'n'drop sample loading.

  • My coll object wont store the information that I type into it and therefore the patch doesnt work, any idea why? I've done exactly what you said but everytime I click on it afterwards it is completely blank. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Also, I dont know if this makes any difference but I am using Max 6 :/

  • @nikkiroseh Have you been into the inspector window for [coll] (press command-i) and checked the box that says 'store coll with patcher'?

  • I'm afraid my response has to be the same as before. Without seeing the patch it's very hard to tell. Also your description is rather confusing: you got playback, but then you didn't get playback? Could you be more specific?

  • @MUST1002

    Any chance i could email it to you and see what you think?

    I've followed the same steps as you have in the video, i can view the sound waves of the samples when double clicking both the buffer and groove boxes but when i move the value of the integer or add a message of 1 instead of using the i receive no play back.

    I've checked the DSP settings, made a quick trigger to the GM drum kit, received playback.

    Thanks for your fast response =]

  • @ChrisEarl102 OK. I don't have an awful lot of time, I'm afraid, but I'll see what I can do. You'll have to excuse brief responses tho'! Email address on my website.

  • Hi, ive literally copied exactly what you have done in this tutorial although my file names are different but when i double click to see the wave form the box is empty. Do have any advice on how to get round this?

  • @xWARBRAINx Difficult to say without seeing the patch. Does anything appear in the Max window? Are the names you've given the various buffers and players (grooves) consistent?

  • @MUST1002 yeah i checked that several times and it didnt make a different. I think I'll just have to use the sprintf object instead, thanks anyway

  • @MUST1002 Any help would be greatly welcomed at this point :D

  • Hello ,I've copied your steps loaded the samples (there .aif files),i even got the play back you did when connecting the ezdac. I can view the files but i can't get any play back i've checked that my audio are correct in the DSP settings . Any thoughts ?

  • @MUST1002 I just didn't have a space where you'd put one i think, it was hard to see. Thank you
