After the barley grains have done their work in the mash tun most breweries have them taken away to be used as animal feed. Here are the two different ends of the scale. At a large brewery, Fuller's, the spent grains are removed daily by a large truck and at the much smaller Sambrook's Brewery in Battersea, they are removed by hand and collected by a local farmer.
