The youth of Roots & Shoots Medford embarked upon a Peace Project in order to spread a message of peace and anti-violence in honor of the father of a group member who was murdered in Boston last year. In this video, Tina Chery of the Louis D. Brown peace institute discusses the philosophy and methods of spreading peace with the group. As they talk, the youth are creating artwork expressing their unique views of peace. Their works were joined together to create a quilt-like design that was printed onto Peace Cards. Group members sold the cards, raising over $1,200 for the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute. For more information:
