The Fashion Industry & Disabled Models

As an ambassador for 'Models of Diversity' I feel that my message is very important! Let's abolish ignorance and change the face of fashion.
In this video I am having a little rant about what I and many, many others around the world want to see change in the fashion industry. This video is mainly targeted at disabled models, however, can also be a voice for any models/aspiring models.
What I am trying to put out there is that regardless of physical abilities if a model has the look a company are looking for what difference does it make if they're a wheelchair user, amputee, blind or deaf etc. Beauty is beauty.
My concern is that when a disabled model is booked they are purely booked because a company needs a model who is disabled in their advertising campaign not because of their beauty - for example if an advertising campaign wants to create a shock factor. Say if a wheelchair user is booked for a job 9/10 they will be booked purely because of that reason. So what if they're in a chair, they can still get in other positions JUST LIKE A REGULAR MODEL WOULD!

I am so with you, why does it have to be some overly tall chest less starving skinny woman that looks like a 5 foot 10 inch 13 year old. So many women are so pretty no matter if they are heavy or handicapped they have beauty inside and out!

Omg! I feel the same way... I too am disabled and have dreamed of modeling as well as acting!!!!I I have for the longest time searched and searched for modeling agencies that deal with people like us and they're is nothing out there. I think we should start our own agency lol... Seriously though I have thought about it... What do you think? Please write back!!!!!

i actually love this video :) just knowing that you are a disbled model is inspiring , i know what you mean about disabled people only being used because of their disability , i hate being patronised because of my disability :/ i agree so much that the industy is so narrowminded, and i think if they had some real woman in ad campaigns it would be better for everyone :)
