WRTV-6's Analog Signal off at 8:00am after a final news brief during Good Morning America. The signoff features a final PSA alerting viewers about DTV, then a look back at the history of 6News and WRTV. Then finally ending with the old school signature with the Nation Anthem as played years ago when RTV6 ran around 18 hours of programming. This signoff only ran on the analog feed INCLUDING 87.7 FM, while the two digital feeds contiued on with the 2nd hour of GMA on 6.1 and 6News 24/7 on 6.2.

  • I miss 87.7. We used to listen to Judge Judy and 6 News in the truck. lol

  • @sycamorenick I know I miss 87.7FM too!

  • So, do we not get the 87.7 feed anymore? No!

  • Nope! =(

  • The FM 87.75 MHz feed was incidental and not intended because channel 6 analoue audio frequency is the same as 87.7 MHz on the FM dial. Video frequency is 55.25 MHz

  • At least the took the time to commemorate the moment.

  • I watched WFBM with Frank Forrest and Howard Caldwell and Ken Beckley. I'm not old!

  • @sycamorenick When I was a kid, my mother was deathly afraid that the TV would get hit by lightning during storms since we used a roof antenna. She made us unplug it and we could only listen to Bob McClain giving weather reports about possible tornados on 87.7.

  • wowpsa mi cabsiyo lol

  • WRTV was originally WFBM-TV and was I think the first TV station in Indiana.

  • For some reason, the music on that test pattern at the end strikes me as extremely funny, probably because it's the news music and I've only ever heard beeps over test patterns.

It's like "Hey, here's the news: you can't see it without a converter box, so we're just gonna play the news music over this 1940's-esque test pattern! Have fun 'til the static comes! :-D"

LOVED the sign-off video, especially the montage.
