Metal Masters is a fighting game by Infogrames featuring giant robots. Need I say more?

Estimated time since last play: 16 years.

"Ain't Played In Ages" is a live narrated walkthrough / let's play series of various games that I haven't played for many years. Usually I'm playing them in the video for the first time since I was a kid. That's a long time ago.

Intro music is from the classic "cracktro" by Unit A. The full version can be heard and seen here:

  • What sucks amish bum in this game is the lack of grandiose. The robots seem almost miniature sized. They should've made the crowd more prevalent.

  • @blackbellamusic yeah I guess they are a bit small on the screen, but it's still pretty impressive given the hardware it was running on. It's pretty mindless bashing action but it's fun.

  • they shoulda called it 'Giant Death Robots' gawdamnit

  • @slenkar agreed. Or maybe Laser Explosion Mecha Happy Fun Time Kill. That's probably the Japanese title. They love giant killer robots. Then again, who doesn't? The Amish, that's who.

  • @JimPlaysGames lol I bet the Amish secretly like giant robots

  • @slenkar hehe yeah, they're only human.

  • .. having said that I always liked this game.

  • @slenkar I most certainly did! I was not happy 10yr old let me tell you!

However, a year later I spent the same amount on Ristar having only looked at the box and boy was that my best ever buy for Mega Drive. So that makes up for it a bit :)

  • @ModernRelik you spent 45 quid on Rise of the Robots?? (faint)

  • @ModernRelik thanks! Glad you liked it :D

Yeah I completely forgot about Rise of the Robots. I guess it was so traumatic I must have blocked it out of my memory. Maybe that game is the reason we haven't seen any robot-based fighting games since. No-one wants to invite the comparison.
