  • Wow! Looks like Joan is playing an Ovation 1866 12-string w/o cutaway, and Ricky Hirsch is playing its sister 6-string (1867?). But Rick's sound is like that of a nylon string. What gives? Anybody know the model of these guitars?

    Thanks for posting this!

  • Those Ovations were called "Legend" back then. Not sure if they still use that. They played great and sounded decent for the state of the art in 1979 in acoustic electrics. The "tone control" was a new add on at the time, which gave me the advantage of rolling off those nasty brittle sounding hi's resulting in a mellower sound. The extra perk was they sounded good acoustically as well. Will be adding a few more vids from this series.

  • @insyncmusic Thanks so much for this man! I love the lady and the way hr band adds the jazzy touch. What a unique style.

  • @BhyphenLo9 She sounds exactely as good live as she sounds on the album. Her voice is perfectly in tune and so is the way she plays he guitar. This lady has so much respect from me as a complete artist, writer, composer and musician. Thanks so much for posting this. Means a lot to me. Precious, Priceless memories... How incredibly underated... Can't help repating this. I wish she could see those commens.
