Its always louder, more scary, and way more asphalt in your face than you can imagine or think it'd be. That's what I realized after photographing this year's LifeLock 400 NASCAR race at Michigan International Speedway, through the precarious vantage point of a hole in the fence over the track's Turn 1. The cars speed under you at 180 some mph, 8-10 ft between you and them...
Thanks to Cory Olsen of the Grand Rapids Press for filming me!
i wana see one of them pictures he took...anyone know where i can see them at all

definitely at least 200mph there. watch a race when theyre showing the speed of the cars at that point. they can reach 205 going into turn 1. plus i go to the races at MIS every year.

You are wrong sir. Sprint cup cars are easily running 200-215 mph at that spot. Wanna know how it felt. Looks amazing :D

You can bet it's a very scary spot.
Anything can happen real quick.
I spotlighted the camera guys with similar Canon gear like myself that were peering out that hole in the fence at Iowa Speedway.
The noise and racing fuel exhaust is brutal.
I just finished a 69 second video just today of the Aug 02 event.
Brave soldiers with lens, and Nice job here.
Cheers
