The former finance minister in Hosni Mubarak's ousted Egyptian government has reportedly found safe haven in the UK. That's despite the fact he's been sentenced in absentia to 30 years in jail for corruption, profiteering and abusing state assets by a Cairo court. RT's Laura Emmett looks at why the UK is sheltering senior figures from the regime at the same time, as it publicly backs the 'Arab Spring'.

The haven to go if you're a criminal: ISRAEL.

(of course this only counts if you're Jewish). They have NO extradition treaties with ANYONE. I don't think that the UK government will just hand over these people, They will wait for some stability in Egypt before doing so. Otherwise they will have all the humanitarians saying you are handing people over to get slaughtered blah blah blah. It sucks i know , quite frankly I don't care about these obviously corrupt politicians but at the same time I see why the UK government are not handing them over (immediately anyway).
