Magnum Spider 8.1 Desert HPi Tested at SWAT Roundup International 2010

Magnum USA joined tactical teams from around the world as they competed at the annual SWAT Roundup International 2010. The five-day event, held in Orlando, Fla., combined head-to-head competition, education and training seminars and a trade show into one major event.

Magnum USA was on site promoting its Spider 8.1 Desert HPi boot, worn by the Orange County Sheriff's Office's SWAT team. The Spider 8.1 Desert is an extremely lightweight assault boot for active operators and trainers in need of speed and performance. Great looking and light but 3 weeks later I'm very dissapointed in the boot build quality. A section of the internal stitching has come undone exposing the form/padding. On the outside the boot is freying in the area where the front of the foot naturally folds when walking/running. And stitching has come undone in the area that is designed to be tough enough for fast roping... although I'm yet to rast rope in them.

about to pick up a pair of these! my bros pair are very comfortable and sick...but why should i choose magnum boots over other companies???

@MagnumBootsUSA Thanks for the response, I have recently bought a piar of MAGNUM Elite Force WPI and found that a size 14 (America 15) were a great fit. The boots are very suppourtive without being uncomfortable and the ION Mask does a great job of keeping the water out. All in all the boots are spectacular for a wide range of pusposes and they are my main footwear, in fact I'm even wearing them now.

@MagnumBootsUSA I am considering getting a pair of these boots but im not sure whether you make them in my size. I live in Wales, Great Britain and i have a pair of size 15 feet (16 in America) and am unsure as to whether i can get hold of a pair that size. Would you mind shedding a little light on the subject? Thanks.

@WHEELIN08 I have the Elite Spider 8.0 and after 6 months the flixible nylon part on the heel has torn. I have contacted my retailer and hope for an answer.

I was very pleased with the comfort of the Spider 8.0

@MagnumBootsUSA Yes, I've contacted the retailer here in Australia. I was very suprised as the Spider 8's which I also wear often have had no problems at all and I've had them for many months.
