this was for an unusal 1967 television special tapping the new technology of live via satellite. Different nations contributed to the worldwide broadcast but alas some countries (or their leaders) declined to participate. Thus the message of this wonderful song was super-appropos, and it explains the large assemblage and the nice mix of classical and rock musicians.
