  • I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I prefer Tomita's version to Holst's.

  • @yourforte

well, considering tomita is somewhat playing holst's version

you don't have to worry :)

  • @ophios - yes. I just think the electronic version sounds more effective than the orchestral.

  • @yourforte

ah, in that case, I agree with you :)

  • Seeing this brings back memories. I have this on VHS...would love to have it remastered for a DVD release.

  • Yea, I would love to see this on DVD to.

  • how did you get the audio without patrick stewart's voice in the background? lol

  • Thanks for this beautiful imagescape to go w/ Tomita's electronic version of the music. A perfect pairing!

  • @yourforte Me too. He adds dimension yet stays true to the composer's score. That's what I love about all of Tomita's classical interpretations.

  • This planet sounds like a woman.....**cough**

  • yep, it`s true",Tomita san"' enhances , and imroves upon the original( as I think he does on most of his"cover jobs,"i e",his interpretation of the "classics"using the moog..as he does..so wonderfully....

  • i honestly think Tomita's versions of Holt's Planets are better. Since the theme is outer space, and outer space is commonly known for a more digital sound as a background. This fits perfectly with the atmosphere. I listened to the orginials and it just doesnt create the same vibe this does, which is if you close your eyes, u can perfectly picture outer space.

  • Hey... would love to see the opening scenes from "Twenty Million Miles to Earth" mixed with this! Help?

  • I knew a guy at Glendale Comm. College back in the early 90's, ((in CA)) and he made me a cassette tape of this entire album. I loved it!

  • Have this DVD love the use of CGI and actual NASA footage is used. You feel like you're doing an actual fly over.
