could someone let whiff know about blogging. why would you post negative commentary on a video that applies to people that might be scared or apprehensive of seeking help. it's just sad. i've had adhd my whole life. explain to me how amphetamines help me think and slow my impulsivities to a nil? why can i sit and enjoy tasking that i couldn't otherwise. save the armchair qurterbacking for televised sporting events, not mental health events. thankyou

True, i noiced that when i smoked most of the day it enhanced my adhd symptoms too, however for a time period i was smoking a small amount (one bowl) at night, and i noticed that most of my symptoms went away, i was able to remeber which tasks i had started, which ones i needed to do yet, and it helped me to begin to socialize properly, so i belive that if monitered correctly cannabis can actualy help people with adha

Please learn about the drugs before you read something up on a video. Everybody can read about the drugs, but if you don't understand the basic mechanism by which these drugs work, please leave out the mechanism as you clearly have no understanding of what you are reading.

The sociohistorical account of ADD goes back even further than the 1960s. most probably during the time in American history that witnessed a major shift in the philosophy and pragmatics of the American educational system. It is no coincendence that ADD was invented at a time when American industry-and immigration-exploded on the scene. The aims of education, as an indoctrinating and socializing institution, came to influence many a behavioral scientist.

one correction: ADD is really neither scientifically or medically informed. What does inform the discourse of ADD, and by extension, the discourse of madness, is social, ethical and moral considerations. We drug over 13 million children in the U.S., not for medical reasons, but for practical reasons, one being to force-drug a child to conform to a programatic life, in a programatic environment (starting with school, and continuing throughout an individual's "productive" lifespan!)

" It's been studied, tested, and treated for a long ass time"
Actually the "real" thrust in this so-called study and testing of ADHD came about in the early 1960s, probably influenced by the launching of Sputnik. It seems, if my historical account is correct, that ADD was recast, into a new psychological and psychiartric jargon that sprang up; ostensibly to make scientific, that which is neither scientific or medical: mental illness! Not all that glitters is gold; as the science of ADD.

People, as this Therapist(?), I see as the sincerest example of an arch-coercer! Claiming one's collectivist mission to be that of spreading the gospel of mental health, and its sacraments (of mental health), is not in keeping with those underlying values shared by ANY open and free society. Collectivist oriented mental health programs are not coterminous to the ideals of a free society and the non-paternalistic presence of state power!

(cont.) , this group positing that it is the endocannabinoid system that needs ratching up (adjusting, etc.), while another group, claims that it is the "prefrontal cortex" that results in poor impulse control, inattention, and a host of other so-called "symptoms". ADD used to be just for kids, just like some cerereals. Now adults have been "shown" to also be "stricken", and that, makes perfect therapeutic sense (laughing all the way to the bank).

@whiff1962
Well adhd (add) does exist. It's been studied, tested, and treated for a long ass time. But the reason potheads argue that it works is because they think it cures everything from cancer to aids. From my personal experiences with weed (I used to smoke a fucking lot) it caused inattentiveness, lack of concentration, and lack of interest in school. So oddly enough in me it enhanced my adhd-like symptoms.
