I adore this piece. I like the lightness of how you play it. Fantastic! I think I will order the scores.
And I also wonder if Kapustin was inspired by Simeon ten Holt - Canto ostinato, or the other way round, or was it just a huge hazard. There are really some paralleles.
Anyway, if you made recordings of other bagatelles from Kapustin, I would be interested how they sound.
Congratulations again for the performance! Cheers, Ingo
(continued). Examples: 1) m 19 @0:30), where it sounds like you play the f# and then the a-d-g chord before the appoggiatura in the right hand; 2) moving from m 25 to m 26 (@0:55). Also there's something funny happening every time in the last half of m 21 (@0:52), but my ear can't pick up exactly what. But as I say, a very enjoyable performance. It made me google you to see if you had any CDs! Hope to hear more.
Bravo! Overall I love the feel of your interpretation. In particular, what I like: articulation (deskoidenou: maybe not Bach, but nothing wrong with having a Bach-like sound!), phrasing, the slight hesitations at the end of m 42 (@1:17) and before the last chord. What's bothering me a little: Other hesitations -- small ones, such as in m 12, etc., at the 8th rest, or big ones, where it sounds like you're actually adding an extra 8th note to the measure (see next comment...)
Bravo, sir. Wonderful, masterful, lovable, perfect. Thank you,
Reid
