Watch in HD. Series of videos showing the construction of a large wildlife pond at a school in Gosforth, Newcastle (North East England).
The pond will have beach area, dipping platform and hibernaculum and will be planted with native plants.
This video shows how I prepared the hole for the liner by removing sharp objects and large stones and shaping the shelves. Since the ground is very rocky and full of trash, laying a liner is more difficult than with a good soil base and therefore more care is needed before the liner can be laid.
The next video in the series shows the installation of underlay, sand and pond liner.

  • Predator Bird and Raccoon feeding zone

Looks like a typical Aquascape Pond ready to collapse in about 18 months

  • Unless a Raccoon gets on a plane or swims the Atlantic, it won't be feeding in here, man.

How will any part of this pond collapse - Have you even watched the other videos in the series to see how it is constructed?

    No.

Just another moron who cusses other people's work without having any evidence of their own acheivements.

Please get off your fat ass, stop eating cheese and do some work.

My ponds are totally different from the American simple pile of rocks designs, you tool.

    Jesus wept.....

  • thats a nasty ground to make a pond in so good job, ive got a 101 gallon pond how many common goldfish can i put in it? and if they breed would i have to get rid of the fry if i have too many goldfish in it? thanks.

  • I have no idea how many fish to put in there as it depends on depth, filtration etc.

  • wow that ground really is terrible I thought mine was bad! It's good that your doing it properly unlike some people they just throw the liner in without underlay or taking out any sharp objects! good job :)
