PK54 AYL - Clips Leg & Hand!

I was out of the cycle lane due to parked cars above, and saves me merging in and out of the cycle lane. When this idiot decides to overtake me, through a pinch point - brushing my leg and clipping my hand on his wing mirror.

I tell him nicely to move out, then the woman winds the window down and shouts something, so i tell him to move out more again. This makes him stop, tells me i should be in the cycle lane and that he will run me over next time.

PK54 AYL should not be on the road.

I wouldn't be in that sorry excuse for a cycle lane anyway, it's got parked cars regularly along it (so it's not a cycle lane, really, just a token gesture, shallow as most other politics). It's actually better for drivers to have cyclists cycle in a consistent manner, and weaving in and out of the cycle lane every time a car is parked there isn't consistent - and is due to cars, as usual. Anyway, I'd take primary position or whatever it's called and own the lane; they can beep away behind me!

I would email the roads department of the local council and demand that the cycle lane width is increased to the minimum 1.5m

If you give them an inch, they will take it. If there is not enough space for a car to pass you safely in a pinch point then you must take control of the road to stop it form happening!

Not taking anything away from how bad this driver was, but we gotta make sure we do everything to avoid this incidences!
