  • GREAT version with some fine traditional picking and a good old-timey feel. Frank Profitt wasn't exactly the author, though - he adapted the song from Garson and Whitter, who recorded it in 1929, basing their version on a yet earlier version contemporary to Dula's execution in 1868.
