what did you use to make the blanks? other than standard GW miniature bases

The bases are just standard GW gaming bases. The tile texture pieces on top are from another mold I did awhile ago of different kinds of floor/wall pieces. You can use almost anything you would normally use when making a base, just make sure it is sealed and you don't have any major undercuts.

It really depends on the blanks you are using. Ideally you want a 1/2" space on all sides of the piece you are casting. Here I am able to get them a little closer because of the shape of the blanks. They are conical so the spacing goes for 1/4" at the top of the mold to 1/2" at the bottom. Also Oomoo has good tear resistance so I am not too worried about destroying the mold.
