  • If you would be braking from a high speed, and downshifting from, say, 4th gear, do you have to release and re-pull the clutch for every gear (to let the engine catch up, I presume), or can you simply hold the clutch until you've clicked down to first?

    Thanks. (Great vids, btw!)

  • Hey Thanks for the Hit! Oh wait this isn't livevideo. Oh Hey Thanks for the Stars! DOWN SHIFTING! I would recomend one to two gears at a time for road riding. A good operators manual will warn you against downshifting that makes the bike rev over 5k rpm. But it's all based on the BIKE! Can cause skiding!

  • Very nice video man. One of the few I have seen who's accurate and informative. Most people never mention the chain was surprised to be honest. Nice work and keep it rubber side down.

  • It's a machine and a clean well oiled machine last years longer. Thanks for commenting.

  • hey are all your gears down, cause i have a super pocket bike and it's up for 1st and down for 2nd thru 4th

  • Pritty sure I said it. All gear patterns are diffrent. The most common is 1 down 4 up. Meaning : tap down until it doesn't seem to be switching gears any more. Note- rocking the bike forward and back and slipping the clutch a tiny bit while down shifting to first, can help prevent gear binding. then you have 4 up(or more) which means each click up is a higher gear. BUT SOME it's a very diffrent pattern. see owners manual.
