Here's an informative video on how to make your own dry pigment (soft) pastel stick. In this video I've used the leftover pastel pigment that has sifted down off my easel while working on previous paintings. You'll see how you can save this excess pigment and make a whole new stick. I've done this many times and have produced some amazing colors. The process is very simple. After watching this video, you can do it too.

  • I read to make a hard pastel you can use skim milk in place of water.
