  • this thing could easily move on you and give you an inaccurate mark.

  • It has compression rivets that hold nicely. You have to bump it hard to mess up the template. I am willing to bet you have not used one

  • it's a nice idea. but a bit gangly looking and then the long wall still appeared to be 3/16-1/4" gap.

  • This was made as a concept video. It does not show everything exactly as it could because it was made with what was at hand at the time.

  • how about placing the counter top against the wall the take a compass and scribe the line.

  • That will give a parallel reference to the wall but not a square reference to the whole cabinet. This is a multiple step process to get it close.

AngleBuster makes it a one simpler.

    Old ways die hard.

  • looks cheap and time consuming, it would be faster and easier to put the countertop on the cabinet and scribe it

  • This is ridiculously more complicated than it needs be. Just place the top in line with the front of the cabinet and then find the largest gap against the wall and hold you pen steady and scribe the line evenly te total length. Do the same for the side splash. By the time this guy has figured where to scribe I would have the top installed.

  • at exactly 1:17 in the video you said "...acrosst here..." Can you explain yourself sir? Why did you pronounce a (t) at the end of the word "across"? There is no (t) at the end of the word, and yet you pronounced at as if there were. Why sir? Whyyyyyy???????????????/

  • what about that huge gap on the back side wall when you put the counter top on the

cabinet. Tool looks like its only good for one thing, to take up space in a trash bag. screw this tool. set it on the cabinet and then scribe it.

  • Yeah if I pulled that out I'd be fired! All these years scribing worked fine along with caulk! LOL

  • A reference video is nice, a inaccurate depiction that a 1/4" tolerance on a scribe especially in a 36" span is sad, buy a compass and parallel the front edge of the cabinet and the counter top and scribe whAt is neccisary to get the reveal you would like... Don't make things overcomplicated by trying to simplify

Mikeyelee2001 said it best. Take it from somebody who installs counter tops every day. Place the counter top on the cabinet, square it with the face of the cabinet, then scribe it with a compass. Saves a lot of time, and is much simpler, and more accurate.

  • To time consuming, be an old man by the time you finish. XD
