@Timbe27 Yes, I read that 20% of finns have I1, which is the oldest DNA in Scandinavia except the Samis. The goths for example were believed to have had I1..
@berserkur19 Actually the people that Finnish people are most related to in the world are estonians and _Swedes_. For example my ancestors came to Finland from Sweden 200 years ago. So in genetic way most of the Finnish people are as "germanic" or "scandinavian" as the rest of the population of the nordic countries :)
@StellandBlood And they may have spoken a non-Germanic language while the Indo-Europeans who arrived later may have introduced Germanic languages to them. Interestingly the "native Europeans" as in ancient Scandinavians likely habitated Central Europe before Indo-Europeans with haplogroups R1b and R1a came from the East.
@StellandBlood I1, the most common haplogroup among Swedes, Norwegians and West Finns (I mention West Finns as separate from East Finns cause they´re genetically distinct from each other), is not an actual Germanic haplogroup such as R1b. Human bodies over 5000 years old have been found in Sweden and Denmark that have I1. Therefore people with I1 were probably "native Europeans" who were here before Indo-Europeans came.
No they would have returned to indo arianism, even Scandinavian language is a neologism, mixed with celto italic, the culture from which emerged balto slavic culture.
@tyskbulle Well I disagree. If Russians had adapted Scandinavian language and culture, they would still be Slavs. Swedes, West Finns and Norwegians have I1 at frequencies of 35-50%. Germans have R1b which is a Germanic haplogroup regardless. Neither have significant amounts of Slavic genes.

Also the relatively small frequencies of I1 among Central Europeans may be a result of mixing with Vikings and other Scandinavians.
