The rainy season is underway and China's Meteorological Administration warns the Yellow River will likely flood between July to October.
In the middle to lower reaches of the Yellow River, rainfall is expected to increase by 20 to 50 percent compared with previous years.

The Yellow River flood control headquarters have put emergency plans in place, and stepped up inspections on flood control work. Heavy flooding has not occurred in the lower reaches for 25 years.
