  • This was so special to find this video on Veterans Day. My dad was in the 148th and would tell me about what he did during WWII. If your dad attended any of the reunions I am sure my dad knew him. Thank you for posting this.

  • @4tabbey2 Thank you for sharing your comments. Did you ever get a copy of the entire film? They tried to get copies out to everyone. I edited this down for YouTube. At the end, was a list of names of everyone in the Company. Did you spot your Dad in the video?

  • @cowboyguido I would love to get a copy of the movie. My dad passed away in 2007 and he would have really enjoyed seeing this. He loved going to the reunions and being with the guys. My sister and I thought we saw daddy in this clip you have put on here but with the helmets on they all looked alike.

  • @4tabbey2 I'm sorry to hear that you lost your Dad. My Dad will be 88 in January. What was your Dad's name. I'll check the credits for you and I can make a copy of the DVD if you'd like. I'll also ask my Dad if he remembers your father.

  • Since finding this video two months ago I have watched it numerous times since my Dad, William H. Vasey, was in the unit. I have since located a 1947 US Army 20 page history of the 148th which fills in what the video doesn't with a list of every man and his hometown and state at the end. I have it on PDF. I have good digital copies of about 30 photos. I would love to get a copy of the DVD.

  • Thanks to Lloyd for your service and to your son for sharing this on youtube. Very interesting to see this behind the scenes type footage. Found it to be very informative and rare. My grandpa was in the 347th Ordnance Depot Co. and had to chase Patton. They literally ran their depot out of their Autocar and Federal trailers sometimes moving 50+ miles a day. I found it interesting to see how these vehicles came to the Continent and how they were assembled.

  • It was great to find this video. My Dad was in the 148th but passed in 1995. He would have loved to have seen it. He was a Tech 5 also. I would love to get a copy of the whole DVD to see if he was in it. I couldn't see him on the 10 minute version. I have a couple good photos of him, one with a sergeant, taken over there that I have copied with my digital camera. I also have a photo of the officers left at the end of the war and numerous prints of vehicles, etc. Let me know if interested. Thx.

  • @cowboyguido Hi My dad is Richard Tucker Jr. he would have been 86 this year he was one of the youngest in the company. He played on a baseball team when he was over there also. He was tall 6'3". They called him Dick.

  • What a special thing to share, thanks. researching my dad's history as part of the QM truck co. 3812 and found this.
