  • this will sound stupid, but, only have two inputs on the mbox, and 3/4 on the mixer. Does this mean you can only use two channels altogether?

  • @iplaydrumsye

To be honest...I am tech stupid so nothing is stupid! ;)

I have simplified my set up and do not use the mixer anymore. I just dont have the need. VO is all mono and (in my case) simplicity=clarity.

From the MBox...just two channels. yes

  • Hooah Soldiers in the studio... I set mine up in my barracks room!!

  • @901Louie Nice! I had mine in a hotel closet at Ft. Lee for 3 months. Craziness!

  • You must been an officer. Anyway, what XLR cables do I need ? I have a different mixer but I am under the same concept. I am using a MIC, keyboard, and Logic Pro. Completely need to the hardware as I was using FL Studio to compose and record before.

    Thanks

  • @HENGOVA I was enlisted for 5 years prior. I am "mixer stupid". I am not a good audio/sound guy really. I keep my chain pretty simple to keep the noise low low low. I used the guy at guitar center to make sure I had it put together right in my head before I went home.

  • You look like the guy from Tosh.O

  • @LiveLimitlessTv With tax season...i will upgrade to pro-tools 9 and work through a mixer. I have done a lot more homework than before.

  • @LiveLimitlessTv This mixer does not have a firewire or usb interface available to connect to the computer. The other issue though is that this version of pro-tools (v. 8 LE) required the m-box. Thankfully version 9 does not require m-box. I did like to be able to adjust setting before the signal got to the computer but in the end i decided it didnt matter all that much. I actually went back to just the M-box for 2 reasons. I was worried about noise. I was mixer stupid.

  • So did you like the preamps from the mixer rather than the mbox? Also, can you connect the mixer to the computer without an interface?

  • @keza123123123 get pro tools 9 and buy ANY usb 2.0 mixer.. best one that ive come across is the alesis multimix 16 usb 2.0 with 16 channels, 8 mic pre amps. this mixer sends each signal seperatley.. if the mixer is not usb 2.0 it will not send all the channels just the final mix...
