  • Yup, lived and served at Hahn AB, 50 CSG from 87-90 as the Base Intro Manager from your local CBPO. Hope all of you that went through my briefings had a great time despite all those LSN,s in full chem gear doing 12 2 15 hour shifts. I got hooked on Europe and now live in cologne. Best wishes to all the "HAWKS"!

  • I was stationed there early 60's and enjoyed the stay. To bad it was shut down.

  • this is so depressing!

  • @TxInguy Heyweiler or Langweiler? my dad was stationed at hahn from 85-91, and we lived off base in a town called Langweiler which is about 20 miles from the base as well.

  • I was at Bitburg from 82 to 84 with Bravo Battery 6/56 Did FTX around Hahn also So sad to see them abandoned

  • I was stationed there from 01/1982- 12-84. It was a great place to be stationed and the locals were fantastic. I lived off base in a town called Heyweiler about 20 miles from base.

  • My dad was stationed at Hahn from 1968-1972...I was just a boy and I still remember the number where we lived...11-A-7 .....played baseball at the park down the road...

  • so very sad....I was stationed at Wueschheim and lived on Hahn. Was there from end of '86 till my discharge in Feb of '89. Was my favorite of the places I was stationed.

  • so many memories. Dad was stationed there in 57-61. Sister was born there. My mom still lives in Kirchberg just a little ways away. Thanks for the awesome memories!

  • @SvendegardCatkicker Ahhhh...San Remos. Now I'm hungry!

  • I can't stand to watch the whole thing! We were there 1987-90 and LOVED it. I cried about half the way home on our final flight back. If I had a time machine, I would go back there in a heartbeat.

On lighter note, I'll bet those stoves in the quarters were the cleanest that have ever been left to the elements! I'm sure they were all inspected before everyone left. Who else but military would do that?
