Purcell: An Evening Hymn - James Bowman
My apologies for the typo in the end titles.
Text:
Now, now that the sun hath veild his light
And bid the world goodnight;
To the soft bed my body I dispose,
But where shall my soul repose?
Dear, dear God, even in Thy arms,
And can there be any so sweet security!
Then to thy rest, O my soul!
And singing, praise the mercy
That prolongs thy days.
Hallelujah!
So, so beautiful! His voice is just great for this song with ethereal timbre! Bravo! Thanks for posting.

The most divinely beautiful voice ever. Can anyone upload him singing David's Lament for Jonathan?

Retired from the Chapel Royal and gave his last London recital recently. End of an era.

There are no posts of James Bowman singing live anywhere?

I like this version a lot, he makes it sound easy and it suits him voice so well. Thanks for post, trying to learn Purcell and sooooo very difficult phrases longer than Brahms at times :s
