This was truly Crowe's breakthrough movie. And to be honest, I'm surprised he wasn't at least nominated.

Russell Crowe was amazing as Bud White.When he told Lynn how he watched his mother being beatened to death,you could hear the pain in his voice and helplessness.He made Bud more than just a thug,Great acting

fell in love with bud white the first time i saw the movie. i adore rough magic, too. he commands the screen regardless of who else is in the flick.

This is one of my favourite movies of all time. The chemistry between Russell Crowe & Kim Basinger is wonderful. The cast is the best ever assembled. The story is well-written, and period detail is terrific.
