Try upgrading BIOS, from what i can tell, its A01. When i received my vostro, it was shipped with A05, with A06 being a minor update.

I have this piece of shyt too. Mine gets the blue screen and says something like halt hardware malfunction, with noise and sometimes without noise. Go figure.

lmao, i had this same nasty sound when playing a youtube video.. <_<.
removing the battery had to be the only option because everything else didn't work

go to the bios and reset the defaults. also check if you have some stuck keys on your keyboard.

I never ever got the long continous beep, but i did have my 1500 for only 8 months.
For some odd reason, when you do new upgrades or new installations, the BIOS boots very slowly

I have the same problem, please tell me how to fix this, I bought it like a month ago in the states and now I am in South America, I can't call technical support to fix it. Is there a problem with the video card or hardware??? Please if somebody has any idea I would appreciatte it.
Just Remove you battery and AC Adaptor for a few minutes.
