From 1993, this is the clip from the episode where Frasier helps Woody run for city council. Prior to the debates, Frasier gives Woody the advice to "just say the word 'change' about a hundred times!" Sound familiar?

  • Clinton benefitted from Y2k preparations - it wasn't his policies that gave us surplus!

And if Clinton hadn't acquiesced in Newt's "Contract For America" even Y2k preparations might not have given Clinton "his" surplus -- Remember how Reagan bailed us our of the CARTER recession? Oh yeah, you're probably too young to remember THAT era of double digit interest rates and double digit inflation. Thanks to the ObaMessiah, you might have that opportunity to live through it. Let's look UP instead!

  • Thanks for the post. I was hoping someone would post this episode. The character City Councilman Kevin Fogerty sounds alot like Obama. Both have complete contempt for the morons voting for them. Please post his campaign speech in the bar if you have it.

  • @nfli3596 What do Y2K preparations have to do with the government running a surplus by taking in more revenue than it spends? Very little of Newt's Contract was ever implemented. The economy was never in recession during Carter's term in office, though we did have extremely high inflation. The economy DID, however, experience a pretty severe double-dip recession during Reagan's first term. You may have been alive during the 1970s, but you certainly don't seem to have paid enough attention.

  • do you think it's easy to change the country after george bush fucked the country up ?

  • @BulgariaAir737 Obama isn't Clinton. Though I liked Clinton and didn't totoally agree with everything he did, I have found a whole lott less that I have liked about OBAMA.

  • @Com101smurdy You are absolutely right! The Republicans hated him and wanted to bring him down from office. Clinton was a good president, can you believe we had 2% crime rate in the entire US?! And to all those nutcase republicans who keep posting unprincipled, envious and rude comments about President Obama, can stuff it because we ALL know that you are only jealous of us Democrats and you are afraid that America will become the America it was in the 90s. Then...Bush came and ruined everything!

  • *cough* BULLSHIT *cough* YOU'RE either too young to know or willfully ignorant that the so-called "Carter recession" began under Nixon and Ford. And you say Clinton's economic policies all hinged on Y2K preparations because of the Contract On America? Is that a fairy tale that Republicans tell their kids at bedtime? Seriously... I haven't heard even the most die-hard right-winger reach that far!

  • hope. change.

  • I bet that's where asshat 0bama got the idea.
