2009 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt World Champion Penny Thomas (pennyfighting.com) reviews some of the results from the weekly BJJ polls from thefightworkspodcast.com. During the competition footage, you see Andre de Freitas (Cesar Gracie) against Joao Assis (CheckMat) at the 2009 American National Jiu-Jitsu Championships.

13% have been to Brazil to train BJJ.

28% have used BJJ in a real life self-defense situation.

46% believe that BJJ teammates should not be able to verbally agree on 1st and 2nd place if they close out the brackets in competition.
