Baby 6 months after left side hemispherectomy

Thank you for all the concern for our baby that was having seizures due to hemimegalencephely (misdiagnosed for months as colic/reflux). He is doing MUCH better after surgery! We apologize for not getting an update on YouTube sooner.

BTW - Hemispherectomy is a procedure that disconnects and/or removes one side of the brain (or part of one side) from the other side of the brain, leaving use of only the "good" side of the brain. The good side of the brain "re-maps" and learns to compensate for the removed/disconnected half. It's amazing what the brain can do, especially a baby's brain! See for yourself in this video...
