As a beginner i wanted to know, what is the best way for me to get out into the water without starting so close to shore as i need to go down wind before edging out? thanks
@cr08031966 Good points. Kitesurfing is inherently dangerous. With the advent of bow-kites and better safety features, noobs do not need to learn the skills we had to in order to fly C kites. So next time I'm in Corpus I should get my mommy (mum) to come wipe my bottom(bum) and hold my kite for me. Learn how to self launch & learn to do it safely. Preaching not to even learn it is ridiculous. MrAexritten, if localism irritates you, stay in sunny brittain. U wont bother us by not kiting here.
@MrAlextritten, lol the trolls of kitesurfing... go back to wow you overgrown kids. it's upto the individual how they launch thier kite as long as they understand the risk that they are taking. plus it a handy manouvre when you live somewhere that there are no other kitesurfers
@cr08031966 And one more thing before I erase you from my memory for ever. Not only I've taken more risks in my kitesurfing carrer than you'll have taken in your entire life, I've also nothing left to prove to take my points accross. So next time you wanna argue about something with someone, make sure you're not out of your league like you are now. Google it. I don't hide my name behind stupid numbers like you do. PEOPLE, ASK FOR HELP FOR LAUNCHING!!!!!
Just saw some other (self-proclaimed good kiter) idiot trying to self-launch 3 days ago. a line caught a timy bit of seaweed and he got his ass handed out to him, missed the seawall by that much. Thought he was so good, got too surprised, didn't have time to react and pull his safety. Funniest part, a chick saved his life catching his kite, then went on to tell him how stupid, arrogant he was! Personaly, I think the guy should be made to go live in Maui, may be you've got a room?
@cr08031966, dude, only an A-hole would bring politics in a discussion about safety... I've spent some time on your colony you keep calling your country. It may be the birth place of the sport, it's also the birth place of localism, only place in the world I've been to where I saw a kiter give the finger to another kiter because he was in his way... Sad.
You want to take risks, knock yourself out. Just don't lure other people into thinking self-launching is safe. IT ISN'T YOU IDIOT!
@MrAlextritten , I can't imagine a world with the theories you present. Ignorant as you are, this is kitebeach Maui. Not at all ideal, but the birthplace of the sport for at least 90% of the companies. USA shouldn't have declared independence from Britain either according to the overly cautious types like yourself. Live a little! A little risk makes the sport fun. I do this maneuver all the time. It's safe.
got vids on self launching if the kite falls in the water?
