Synth/pad preset 1 to 60, Korg microSTATION is a new workstation from Korg. I just got the first shipment to Europe and I have had the Korg M3 and the Korg M50 Workstation before. This is a light weight 2.5 kg/ 6lbs workstation/synthesizer with amazing sounds and a built in sequencer.

Pros: portabel and easy to use, amazing sounds from the bigger M3 series, sequencer, great software editor

Cons: mini keys, small LCD display

Everything recorder with a Korg SR1 Sound On Sound field recorder.

You can make a 16 channel song with drums, bass lines, leads, pads and so on. Use up to 5 effects and master effects and then save your work to a SD card. With the USB connection it can act as an VST in your DAW like Cubase, Logic, Live. Since I use it in a studio it is very easy to just put it in a bag and use it both at home and in the studio. I initially bought the Korg M50 but 7 kg/15 lbs was bulky since I also play bass guitar and use Cubase on my laptop, impossible to get all that equipment on the metro.

  • Would you say this is a great workstation for its price?

  • @The7thINFANTRY if you can stand the mini keys it is a great workstation. However if you want to edit and arrange I prefer the bigger M50 with its touch screen.

  • Hey, good day! I'm the one who requested the brass presets video. Well, i just noticed something on your description of the video:

"...You can make a 16 channel song with drums, bass lines, leads, pads and so on. Use up to 5 effects and master effects and then save your work to a SD card...."

Does it mean that the microSTATION is capable of creating a MIXDOWN of the songs you recorded via its sequencer?

    :D

  • @joshuacramos there is no sampling funtionality built in so you can not re sample it into a mixdown. You have to hook it up to a laptop with a good sound card and record the song. On the bigger brother Korg M3 you can do a mixdown and then save it to a USB stick.

  • I like the Butterfly one, that's pretty cool and the name fits it very well. Very "flittery". LOL

  • PIANO TIENE?

  • O-oh. It seems like my wallet is going to be mad at me, and my goog ol' mark 1 DX7 will have to give room for this little thing in my live lineup: it seems to be way easier to use and doesn't break my back like the DX... not going to sell that either, though ;)

  • thanks for the video. much effort :)

was hoping if u could post more orchestral/choirs type sounds?

i'm torn between microstation and ps60.

  • And are these the only synth pads? Thank you for your response, I'll definitely check into getting one, these sounds are perfect :)

  • nice one, though i heard a lot of settings, id probaby be only using about 6 of them in total because it seems its more geared up for vintage 80s sounds, i prefer the softer modern more lucious presets like 7,8,9, 14, 41 (when it repeats like a delay) and 49, the rest kinda suck but nice review just my oppinion of the sounds.

  • This reminds me a LOT of my Micro-X. I use the Micro-X for a little extra fill and it works great in conjunction with my other instruments. For songwriting multitracking would be great I would think.I've never been a fan of 'full' production from ONE workstation, but that is just me.
