you cant really stop it from happening. its always gonna happen. now what you can do to fix it is just twist them. when i get up in the morning, my dreads are all flat from laying on them all night. so all you gotta do to fix them is twist them to liven them up. also, if ur dreads are long enough, if u shake ur dreads, that helps too
