Ameren Illinois: http://www.illinoisoutage.com

Severe weather moved across Central Illinois Wednesday afternoon (8/19/09), causing electrical service outages in a number of counties served by the Ameren Illinois Utilities (AmerenCIPS, AmerenCILCO, AmerenIP).

Ameren Illinois Utilities personnel are assessing damage and working to restore service safely and as rapidly as possible.

Safety continues is always our first concern. We remind everyone that there are downed power lines in some areas hit by the storms. It is imperative that people stay away from these downed lines and to always call us or 911 if you see downed lines. Do not outside in the dark because you won't be able to see a downed power line that may still be energized and dangerous. Avoid brush, shrubs and fallen trees that may hide downed lines.

Customers who see downed power lines or need to report an outage should call: AmerenCIPS 1-888-789-2477; AmerenCILCO 1-888-672-5252; AmerenIP 1-800-755-5000.

Service restoration information is available at www.IllinoisOutage.com. This page features outage counts, weather and other important safety and customer information.
