  • could the slope of -5x be put over 1 or 0 as a fraction?

  • If you have a slope of -5 you can write it as -5/1, but not as -5/0. It's ok to write it as -5/1 because that still equals -5, whereas -5/0 is undefined.

  • why not y=m x + c

  • not sure what you mean... are you wondering why b is used and not c in y=mx+b? it's just the way most books do it.

    Like, I have a line crossing through (0,-2) and (3,10), but I can't figure out how to get the y-intercept just from that? :S
