@Ihatemonkeys666 Titis are a female dominant species. They live in small families, therefore there is no dominant male. Male titis are known for their strong paternal instincts too.

Monkeys can't "love, hate " etc. They are not capable of the higher thought process. I have heard of baboons throwing infants at predators to save them self. I can tell you first hand when a new dominate male takes over he kills all the babies. The females go in heat and mate with him then. Doesn't sound like "love".
Monkeys, baboons are bad parents in the wild. Apes on the other hand are good parents.
I worked 31 years in the labs, and anyone who worked with monkeys hates them as much as I.

@lunarparhelion, are you intentionally trying to embarrass yourself? First of all, the coypu (nutria rat) wasn't a pet, which makes your entire point moot. As for it causing some sort of environmental catastrophe, you haven't been to Louisiana if you believe that. A lare influex of them (as with any animal) will *change* an ecosystem...but change is a natural part of nature, and change is as often beneficial to us humans as is not. The environment is not "fragile".
-
@ttowntom Are you just... oblivious? When a species is introduced to an ecosystem where they do not belong, its population may become unstable or they replace/destroy other species. For instance, the nutria rat was transplanted to Louisiana from S. America to eat an invasive water plant that was transplanted from somewhere else. The rat, however, ignored the plant and instead ate grass, causing erosion. Please go pick up a biology book.

@lunarparhelion, please tell me what "ecosystems have been disrupted" by someone releasing a pet boa, alligator, or even a cat into the wild. This nonsense about "fragile ecosystems" is just that -- alarmist silliness foisted on us by environmnetalists. Many of these species would be better off if we DID allow them to become pets. Do you see dogs or cats in any danger of going extinct?
-
@ttowntom Pet trade on threatened or endangered species is banned because humans, as consumers, cannot control themselves. Our love for the dog has led the invention of puppymills - which are not in the interest of healthy individuals; exotics are transplanted & dumped by their owners (feral cats [all sizes], boas, alligators, etc) and this disrupts the ecosystem in which they are dumped; and rare species are poached out of habitat where they are desperately needed to sustain populations.

@ttowntom I@ttowntom I didn't validate your point. You had no point other than baseless sarcasm. As for your verbal attacks they stem from weakness and fear. No one was talking about more or less important. Now that you bring it up I can list at least hundreds of animals that are surely far more important than you. Oh, thanks yet again for solidying my point even further. Is your life that sad and empty where all you can do is seek conflict with a stranger? Now that's maladjusted.
-
@iamlumin, and you mine. People are more important than monkeys, you misinformed, maladjusted misanthrope.
-
@ttowntom Thanks for demonstrating yet another example to solidify my point.
-
@iamlumin. exactly. What is wrong with people when they ban hard-working people from importing and selling pets to those who want them? Now two monkeys are DEAD because this man was forced to hide them in a sock.
wow that is one tini titi
