Attention: It's over nine thousaaaaand, aaaaah! Sorry. And now let's get back to the description.

Please read this first / Bitte zuerst lesen (deutsche Version weiter unten)

Here we go again.
As requested by philotymology here's the "tougher" (or rather "original") Demogorgon (as found as a component of the Ascension mod, for example) solo. As indicated in the first second -- if you can actually see it, that is o.O -- the difficulty is (again) set to "insane".
Basically the same things I wrote before is true again:
- my game is (obviously) modded. You can ask if something's unclear but it's not unlikely that it's related so some fix/tweak/whatever introduced by one of the mods
- my quickslots are filled with scrolls of Protection from Magic Weapons, Timestop and a Wand of Spell Striking
- the character is a Fighter/Mage/Cleric
- it's the German version, if you wonder about the voices

About the battle itself: I could have been way faster, I guess. But this video isn't about speed. My method (read: bash them with a club, then bash them some more and then some) is quite simple. The Chain Contingency firing three Pierce Shield spells (to lower magic resistance) at Demogorgon wasn't necessary as I didn't cast any offensive spells. I could have done something like a CC with three ADHW in it... but on the other hand... what for? Anyway fast and easy fight. Quite pathetic actually, when you keep in mind that Demogorgon is a demon prince who can grant spells to followers. ...sigh...
Oh, something else. If you're wondering about the location: I was too lazy to search some fitting savegame and thus I simply inserted him via console into my pocket plane. I even ran away at the beginning so it's a bit like in Watcher's Keep when he gets a Timestop to summon allies while you are running up to him.

This video is, again, also meant as some sort of parody. This is not intended to be some show off crap. So... any more requests?

Comments are of course appreciated. Sorry about the quality.

...seufz...
Ach ja, noch was.

So... irgendwelche weiteren Wünsche?

Kommentare sind natürlich gerne gesehen. 'tschuldigung wegen der Qualität.

  • spellstrike him run away get fighters to rape him cast more spellstrike rape more = two headed monkey deaded

  • @felderantyo

I don't get it. As Spellstrike doesn't remove combat but only spell protections why would you use Spellstrike, if you were to use fighters?

  • u can take him down easily with a bard or thieve like Haer´Dalis - you only need to put the special traps around him and he dies in one second.

  • @Syntaxerror811

Yes, you could also use normal traps. Or you could use clone spells or Vhailor's Helm to trap the area with as many as you like by abusing that clones don't have a limit for summons and traps. Then you trigger the fight and he gets hit by a few dozen traps. Hooray for the brave heroes.

But really, where's the point? I usually see that as a boring and "emergency" type solution, as it takes away the challenge of most fights. Although I like preparing ambushes with my thieves ;)

  • ...Man, if only the games nowadays had the depth these "old" ones had...

  • Oh the beautiful music at the beginning ... This was (these were - the IE games collectively) - the height of creativity in the best era for PC games.

  • We meet again, 240p.

  • i killed him solo with my kensai/thief in 1 second after he spawned. (he didnt even had the time to spawn his minions. 16 traps were necessary to achieve this)

Spike traps and snares stacked where he spawns own so much :p

i did the same thing with the party you have to kill just before you enter demogorgon's level.

  • @Niakra

Yep, thanks! I managed to take him down about a day after posting my comment. I took on Watcher's Keep immediately after leaving Saradush so I hadn't even gone to the Temple or Marching Mountains at that point, talk about a tough fight! This is my first time playing with Ascension mod, it's crazy but definitely makes the bosses live up to their legendary reputations. I've since taken down Yaga Shura and am fighting Sendai now, talk about a lot of drow!! Take care. =D

  • @AnotherSchmoe

Well, yes, if you install the "original" version he should be immune to spells below level 8 or something, which would include Breach. However you could always try Dispel/Remove Magic, as it seems to bypass these immunities (works on liches too, btw). Another possibility are the wands you mentioned, as they merely imitate the spells and therefore aren't subject to his immunity, unless you have a mod that changes that.

    Have you beaten him yet?

  • Kudos on taking him down solo btw, especially on insane difficulty! That's nuts.

I think he's maybe immune to my breach spells though so I'm going to reload and try my spellstrike wands and higher level penetration spells and see if that helps (had given up last night).

  • I'm trying to kill him with the Ascension mod installed and it made him freakin' BEASTLY tough. =(

Even with a full party of 6 at an average level of around 23-24 he's kicking our butts. Got full chaotic commands and free movement on everyone though so at least he's not mind controlling or holding any of us. Still, that mod makes him just about impossible lol. Gonna keep trying different ways see if I can take him down, if not I might just use the seal scroll. =P

    (On core difficulty btw)
