Just a copycat, that's all.
BYE.

Celine Dion who has no idea on how to sing "summertime" copies word for word, note for note, Renée Olstead, a jazz pop singer. JUST WATCH THAT LAME COPYCAT.

  • this is crap.....Celine preformed this song before her so who is the copycat????

  • Haha!! Renée Olstead cover is from 2005. So is her there is a copycat!!

  • lol you are all retarded! Have you ever heard the word "producer"? David Foster produce Renee albums and Celine said in some interview that Renne is her favorite artist.

And lol, Kara Dioguardi wrote songs like "taking chances" and "surprise surprise" and PRODUCE them as well, so you are all retarded without any knowledge from music industry.

  • And this is why she could NEVER be the best. No originality whatsoever.

  • Check this up before judge her:

    Celine Dion - Summertime (Ad-Lib Show 1987)

  • I still love Celine, but yeah...she's done it her entire career. She tries to emulate "American" style vocals. She's super talented, still, though.

Listen to her note for note impersonation of Kara Dioguardi on "Taking Chances". The only reason you'll even know it's Celine is because of the accent tossed in.

  • Go to shit!

  • Celin Dion could only offer to sell her soul to SATAN himself to even come close to having this kind of voice. Renee has more talent in her little finger then Celin Dion has in her own body and it didnt take Renee 30 years of lessons with the best vocal coaches in the world to still sound like shit. Give me a break to whatever loser put this up !!!!!!!!!

  • OMG Celine Rocks this tune

  • @parachuteboi Well, then it proves what a limited musician Celine is. The fact that she takes instruction instead of being creative. Before I get a clue, why don't you get a brain, bitch?

  • @akens2006 David foster produced both these women who instructed her to sing it this way get a clue bitch

  • Cline dion is a copy cat, shame on her! c'est honteux et scandaleux!!!

  • love celine!

  • Wow. This woman is totally unoriginal.

  • Oh my god that's the same for the voice ! Even the little vibes !

  • Celine can't blow her nose next to Renee.

    Celine only sings ballads.

    This lady can sing anything.

  • Celine did not copied Renee because Celine<

"s version is "smoother" then Renee"s version first of all and I love both of them!!! they are both good:) XD <3

  • Clearly you didn't do any research before posting your opinions as FACT. Renee Olstead recorded this version of Summertime and released it as a single in 2004. Celine NEVER released this song on an album, and it was NEVER even heard live until Sept 3rd, 2006 on a Jerry Lewis telethon. Get your facts straight next time, Bub.

  • Its the way most people sing jazz. I sing this song live a few time and I sound IDENTICAL. Renee has an AMAZING voice. She was 14 when she sang this! Im not so into other lady. She has her moments but I dont like how she tried to cover Meatloaf. I don't think that there is anything wrong with the similarity.

  • Exactly. Celine even copies Renée's improvised word additions (like "you'll spread your LITTLE wings"--"little" is not in the original lyrics). Celine absolutely copied Renée.

  • Celine totally copied Renee's cover...

  • yeah that's kinda the point...it's SUPPOSED to be improvised- all those runs and ad-libs are part of jazz music, so even though it's the same song, it should be easy to make it your own. the only reason it sounds a little different is because of the bands and where they were singing, but the way they both sang it was pretty much exactly they same.
