I was going to write a great comment, but you did it already, said everything I was going to say. Funny how even though it was in black and white, I remember it is color. TV has changed since those days. I don't know how a mom or dad, nowadays can sit with there young child, and even watch some of the commercials.

Notice all the shootin iron? That was America when it was America. Teach the kid to shoot. Take him on the hunt. No slaughters. Good sane Americana. Take notice, Congress. You screwed the country up. Now unscrew it.

If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand anyway! RR was a major part of early TV and American heroes to young kids everywhere.

Seems like life was simpler then, despite the cold war and civil rights injustices of the 1950's. Songs had less angst in them. Today, some things are better, some are worse. I like the music of the 1950's better, that's for sure.

i'm a huge radio geek, and sometimes heard this song as a close to a format. sort of a "goodbye for now, if we ever do come back, be looking out for us!" thing. most recently hearing this on Classic country WIRL 1290 in Peoria, IL as the last song played before making the shift to oldies.

Well I don't know how happy it was back in those days, for some folks. If you were white and had money, sure! Happiness for you, grease, sounds like a warm gun! But all people are striving to be happy. Its just not right that for many people just having a warm meal and a roof over your head is happiness. Its the greedy corporates that screwed this country! They own congress!

I'm sending this to myself, the Grease. A traveling sort, I kind of like this tune banging around in my otherwise empty head. And if I see my trails in black and white, it's cool. I'm an old gent is what I am. And I don't require color to see my way.

    Happy trails...you gotta love it.
