ya mtv had gone down the shitter. They use to play rock all the time and then there was the occasional episode of beavis & butthead but now it's just bullshit shows and rap music videos that all sound the same.

ah the good days of MTV before it became all Jersey Shore this and true life that-what happend to the good days of music music and more music (at least Beavis and Butthead are returning that's a step in the right direction)

when did it go wrong?

In my less than educated opinion it went like this. Heart produced a video where Ann and Nancy were video layered over themselves and didn't use a process amp to clean up the edges of the superimposed images. Heart has some great stuff.  This one was so so.

MTV said we got standards, we won't play it re-shoot it.

Heart sued and won. From that time on all you had to do to get air time was threaten to sue.
