http://www.emdrinaction.com/ Grief is one of those types of issues that EMDR is wonderful for. And in my trainings and consultations, I tell people if there's a loss involved in a history, usually I suggest going for that first because it's the kind of thing that resolves.
This may be too technical, but basically when a person loses someone that was dear to them and important to them, and they start to process that memory, the loss, they have inside them the memory of this person and that is what I am referring to as a resource. And because they have that resource, even though they've lost the person, the loss process is almost - it almost always processes very quickly, usually one session.
