Thanks for watching! I have now handed in my dissertation for my honours degree at uni (woo!), so on my first free day (aside from yesterday - ridiculous hangover) I have plugged in all my gear with my new setup including a laptop and knocked out a tune!
This is basically me practicing a new setup for my first live set which will be in June. I made the tune in about 7 hours today, but some of that was getting to grips with the new way of working! Ableton is sending all MIDI clock data through the 909 and on to the Virus, and I have a controller keyboard in use for some added control of Ableton. Apart from the drums, the 909 is doing all the sequencing, all synth noises are coming from the sexy Virus.
It's just a techno jam really - not sure if it can be classed as a tune. Please drop me a comment if you have any questions / comments - always nice to speak your brain. :)
Nice Jam, and I read the info and I like the way you work. I like your technique.
Good work !

Thanks everyone for watching - a properly produced version of this track is available on Beatport - just search for Simon Stokes, and it's called Kick Back. Thanks!

Thanks for the comment man - I'm glad you like the track! All the equipment used and how it is set up is in the info man - the main synth is an Access Virus, with a Roland MC-909 for sequencing and drums. All of this is being held together by Ableton Live. Thanks for watching!
