"BLACK & BLUE" by Jamie Scandal--from her One Woman Show--AMERICAN SURVIVOR

Just thought I'd break things up song by song for the A.D.D. among us who has neither the time nor the inclination to check out my entire play. I always thought this was a really good song, even though many people find it quite distasteful and/or disturbing. I guess I look like a bit of a tool in my phony black eye with apron and bandana...as if I am making fun of domestic violence. I AM NOT making fun of Domestic Violence..I am simply trying to point out the TRAP and TRICK of it all. I was trying to sing from the point of view of a woman who has seen nothing BUT this horrible circumstance for so long that this is the only way she CAN SEE things. Like being stuck in quicksand with someone awful and mean, while ignoring the sinking because it feels better than being alone. I hope you understand. Then maybe you will like it a little bit.
