    I think he is singing about hopelessness. Asking you to hate him for his willfull sinking into darkness. You want to make someone better but you are powerless because they have given up already. They would feel better if you hated them, it takes away any responsibility from them. Love the old stuff!

    I've been a Tool fan for years, and I've finally started putting out my own music! They've really influenced, not necessarily just with their music (although I am kind of influenced by them musically) but in their approach to art in general... my song Smokestacks explores the theme of past-lives, soul mates, philosophy, and love in the middle of a grim city. Also, the music video for it is totally symbolic and doesn't necessarily run parallel with the lyrics. Check my channel!
