Destin Oil Spill Update Henderson State Beach

Many of the local residents were taking advantage of the still clean waters and beaches over the weekend. Many are concerned that the days we have to enjoy this are very numbered and limited, and worried that none of us knows what will become of the communities when the economic basis of the area is destroyed.

An update on this video. I was at the beach last evening, and the water and the beach is beautiful with NO sign of oil or "tarballs" anywhere. The truth is, businesses are reporting about a 40% decline, which is really a shame, because people who don't come because they are afraid or misinformed are missing out on their wonderful vacation in Destin or anywhere here on the Emerald Coast in Florida. Come on down, and enjoy the wonderful environment nature has given us--it is still intact!

I was in Destin from May 15 through the 22, and went deep sea fishing with no problems on the 20th. My heart goes out to anybody affected by this spill.
