This is Alex when he actually has an offensive line to block for him.

yeah man they're all right. the niners don't have a good line. they don't need to get a new qb though, smith is good. he's got the arm and the accuracy. with a good line the 49ers can run the ball like they want to and smith can have the time to really utilize the offensive weapons on the team. niners should pick up some big linemen in the draft. they're in need of some O line and pass rushers, and maybe another receiver if they can. other than that... they're good to go.

@GoUtes92 all alex needs now is a healthy and more experienced receiver core to throw to, i see so many drops and bad routes its crazy... but they are young and are coming along. so is the o-line.

@kakarot138 Honestly, he's carried our team at times this year, too.....the red zone offense is as much to do with play calling as it is to do with any player on our team....we've, as a team, played conservative because that's what coach wanted.....yea, he's missed a few throws but if you watch Alex this year, he hasn't made stupid decisions.

Look at Brees and Rodgers, each of them should have been picked off at least 5 more times this year.....they get very lucky sometimes....

What Alex Smith has now is really nice. His O line is much improved, and the offensive scheme Harbaugh uses is not based around a single player. For so many years, the 49ers built everything around Frank Gore. Which is okay...if you block well. How can you expect a quarterback to succeed when the rest of the team isn't running the system properly.
