This is the opening of Operation Cardinal Spear in the game Starsiege. Humanity stands on the brink of extinction. A desperate Trojan Horse gambit is made; using a commandeered Cybrid mothership, mankind's greatest heroes would strike at the heart of darkness, itself...

The video opens with the cutscene of the Cybrids surrounding the human dropship, their ploy foiled. The humans launch in their drop pods, scattering all over the surface of Pluto. They have to make their way to one of their comrades: Grand Master Caanon Weathers, aka Icehawk, is stuck in his drop pod...

Starsiege veterans may recognize the "skin" of my Apocalypse, most visibly seen at the end of the opening cutscene. A blue paint scheme wreathed in stylish flames of gold and orange, with the symbol of a longsword etched into the side of each shoulder, and the short form of my callsign emblazoned in metre-high golden letters on the front and sides of the side torsoes. Kudos to Steel Fire of the War Stories Writers' Guild for creating it for me, all those years ago.

  • i can't believe you dind't use sax as a squadmate

  • @dagga70 For this particular playthrough I didn't use squadmates much of the time. That was to ensure I got as many kills as possible (as you can see at the end of this vid, I managed to reach Legendary status after accumulating a heckuva lot of kills through the campaign.)

Having said that, any squadmate is fine by me...since I still rack up most of the kills myself in any mission anyway, squadmates or no. =)

  • 1999 was great, it was the year of the mech game with this, MechWarrior 3 and Heavy Gear 2. Starsiege was definitely the weakest of the three but it's still a fun game and the extras that were packed in with it in attempt to flesh out a complex universe were really cool. I'll always remember this game more for the giant compendium than the actual gameplay. I wish more games these days would go back to giving huge and awesome manuals to make the purchase worth it.

  • @Obviously Agree with that. Starsiege had the most amazing manual and compendium explaining the universe in any game I ever saw.

  • Cheats make videos and games boring. Why would anybody want to watch someone else cheat?

    Enough said.
